How does a student become college ready?
A student who has met the CPE benchmarks on the ACT, COMPASS or KYOTE in reading, mathematics and English. The chart below explains the benchmark for each assessment. If a student does not meet the CPE benchmarks on the ACT, he or she will take either the COMPASS or KYOTE through math and English classes.

Note: Students are required to meet the CPE benchmarks in the state of Kentucky to be considered college ready. While students are required to meet the CPE benchmarks for college readiness, college and universities, especially those out of state, are likely to require the ACT benchmarks rather than the CPE benchmarks for admission purposes.
